Emirates Etihad COVID19 Update

It has been a challenging couple of months for all of those involved in the travel industry with Emirates, Etihad, Oman Air as well as other airlines in the private sector all being affected by a drop in passenger demand. It does seem that light is beginning to appear at the end of the tunnel.

Both Emirates and Etihad have applied to the General Civil Aviation Authority and respective governments to begin passenger flights to a number of destinations from the middle of May, pending government approval. Oman Air however are yet to announce their new operation plans.

Recovery

Both UAE airlines have already been taking part in repatriation flights, namely to taking those stranded in the UAE back to their home nations including flights to London, Frankfurt, Paris, Zurich and Brussels. However, the announcement by Emirates and Etihad has added a boost of confidence to the aviation industry. We expect activity in the aviation community to pick up quickly once flights are back up and running.
